The Medical Clinic is staffed by a part-time Medical Director, part-time physician, and full-time nurse as Clinic coordinator. They work with all medical and lay professionals who volunteer their time, and provide the continuity of care in consultation with physicians who rotate through to see patients. Many area doctors are involved with Clinic operations.
The Clinic operates on weekdays and Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Volunteer physicians serve during the two evening clinics and on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.
Medical facilities include:
- A nurses’ station
- A medical lab
- Five examination rooms
- Patient education room
- Procedure room
- Sample closet
- Two offices
A bi-monthly Outreach Clinic is held in Montross to assist those patients living some distance away from the Kilmarnock facility.
A mental health initiative in partnership with the Community Services Board began in February of 2010. The program allows for a counselor to be at the Clinic 2 days each week.
On-site podiatry services began in April of 2010. A specialist is at the Clinic each Friday to see patients.
